I put all the names of the entries to the Snowden/Forward Russia! contest in a coffee cup and picked Andy McMillan as the winner. So, congrats to him. In case you were wondering, the answer was Christian Cox, and it was on the front page of the site, as well as in the "News" section. He's a friend of mine, and he's amazing at what he does...and I know how hard he worked on that site, so you should check it out sometime. It's purty.
There's a million and one shows tonight, but if you go to one, I suggest you layer. It's cold as a polar bears naughty bits!
**Cadillac Jones @ the EARL
**Foreverdown will be playing at Under the Couch. It's an early show...like 7:30. If you're a blog reader, you may know that Jon from JonPlusTrae is in that band. If you didn't know, well, you do now. They're kind of the male version of Ally and I.
**If you're OTP, Chainestereo is having a show at the Loco's in Gainesville, GA.
That's going to do it, I think. I'm still looking for a band to headline the January showcase since I pretty much got shat on. If anyone feels like helping us out, it would be greatly appreciated.

What?! This is not possible! I thought I had rigged the contest so I would win. Aw crap, I guess I'll go buy a ticket now.... :)
Oh, and Gringo Star (nee A Fir Ju Well) is playing at Lenny's. It looks like their wooden pallet marketing still works on me.
and sovus radio and gates of berlin at the 10 high.
I just saw those guys at the Majestic last night and they didn't even mention they had a show tonight. Huh.
You should check out the Passerby album release party at 585 next Friday night. $15 gets you beer, pizza, and a cd...can't beat it. They're on myspace, of course. http://www.myspace.com/passerbyband
My list will be much different, but the Sounds definitely have the best cover art of the year.
The Snowden album is awesome, and has really grown on me, but no Grizzly Bear or TV on the Radio??? Oh well, I guess that's what my list is for...
Yeah, the Sounds album art is a total turn-on.
I believe my tastes have mellowed out considerably this year, which would explain why your mentions are not on my list.
