Get Your Grubby Little Hands On These!

If you feel like you've been in a music drought, have to fear. This is going to be a good fall for new releases. Check out a few cool things that are coming out in the next 6 weeks:

The lovely ladies in Eisley have a new release out next week (August 13). It's called Combinations and you can check out a track on their Myspace. They'll be at The Loft on August 11th, just a few days before the new album comes out if you want to see them live.

August 21st is going to be a good day because you can pick up:

Menomena's "Friend and Foe"

The New Pornographers' "Challengers"

Rilo Kiley's "Under The Black Light"

MC5's "Greatest Hits"

There's some new vinyl from Andrew WK available on August 28th. You can also pick up a 2 DVD + Book set from The Clash that day.

September 4th you can pick up new music from both Spiritualized and The Brian Jonestown Massacre.

September 11th, which seems like an odd day to release a record, is the chosen release date for the new Deerhoof, Figurines, Pinback, The Shout Out Louds, and The Go! Team.

Pinback and the New Pornographers are two of my most favorites ever.

No problem guys. I'm going to start posting more often about new releases.

I love those Spiritualized posters in Criminal Records. I always want them.

Didn't Friend and Foe come out in January? Is this a reissue?

Shite, I don't know. I just saw it on the label's release list. I will check and get back to you. I have been known to make a blunder here and there ;)

Ok, I checked. Even Barsuk's website says August 21st is the release date, although you can preorder the Vinyl now on there. So, as far as I can tell that's the dealio.

Ah! It looks like that date is for a release on vinyl. The cd did indeed come out earlier this year.

I was hoping a new release would mean they would be coming back through town, but alas, it appears that won't be happening any time soon.

Thanks.

Yes, vinyl it is. I should clarify that shouldn't I?

I know, some new tour dates would be awesome. Hopefully sometime in the near future.
