I think it's safe to say that Playboy is an icon of today's culture, since they tend to tap into all of the arts, aside from the art of a woman's body.
This year, they're doing Rock the Rabbit, which sounds pretty incredible and includes some of my favorite new artists like Margot & the Nuclear So and So's, Tokyo Police Club, Hot Chip, and Daft Punk, as well as veterans like The Shins and Duran Duran.
They'll be raising money for Rock the Vote by selling t-shirts designed by the artists centered around the infamous Playboy Bunny head.
Playboy Rock the Rabbit has a MySpace if you want to keep up with this. I've already requested an invite to the SxSW Late Night Party . . .

Born and growing up in Miami,Fl on NE 88st and Biscayne Bay was just a short bike ride(about a mile)to 78st and Biscayne Blvd. There at this spot is what was in its time The Playboy Club of Miami. And any time I got to cruise thru the parking lot on my bicycle, during the day when it was empty,I was thinking, and dreaming of "the art of a womans body". And I knew that you had to have a "Playboy key" to get in. Sure at this point as a young boy I had seen the Magazine and its contents. And even as a young boy, I Knew as LB states that they,(Playboy) were "tapping in to all the arts".A few years later on vacation in Phoenix, Arizona,(1977) I celebrated with my Mom & Dad my 13th birthday at the Playboy Club in Phoenix. My birthday is July 3rd.Close enough to the 4th that firework celebrations are not uncommon the day before or after. Amist All the Bunnies serving and checking on me,and me checking on them, we were at the top of this building with fireworks going off.In the PlayBoy Club! I turn thirteen.I got a Playboy bunny t-shirt with the Bunny head on it.Wow, Does it get any better? I could even as a young teen wear the t-shirt with out ridicule during that time. There was a sense it seems to me that of course, Playboy was something different. And even though not accepted by many people, it was still an Agent of the Arts and may not have been to this day liked by many people, But in its essence it has been True and Real, and thats what it all about. I might have to "Rock the Rabbit" and get a new t-shirt all at the same time!!!
